How to build a five-minute body care ritual
Self-care does not need to be complicated to feel good. In fact, the rituals that last are usually the simplest ones. If you can find five quiet minutes after your shower, you already have everything you need.
Here is the small routine we come back to, again and again. It is soft, unhurried and easy to keep, even on busy mornings.
Start while your skin is warm
The best time to moisturise is right after a shower, while your skin is still slightly damp and warm. Pat yourself gently with a towel so you are dry to the touch but not completely parched, then reach for your body butter.
Warm a small scoop between your palms. You will feel it melt from a whip into a soft oil, which is exactly what you want before it touches your skin.
Keep it somewhere you will see it
The easiest way to keep a ritual is to make it visible. Leave your jar on the bathroom shelf or by your bed, somewhere it will catch your eye and gently remind you to take those five minutes for yourself.
That is the whole ritual. Simple, soft and yours to keep.
Move slowly and breathe
A ritual is simply an ordinary act done with a little more attention.
Massage the butter in using slow, circular motions, starting at your feet and working upward. This is not only lovely for your skin, it is a gentle moment to slow down and check in with yourself before the day begins.
As you go, take a few deep breaths and let the scent settle. Our Lemongrass is bright and uplifting, while the Unscented keeps things calm and quiet if you prefer no fragrance at all.
