How it started

For us, shea butter has always been more than skincare.

Growing up with roots in Nigeria, Liberia and Ghana, we knew it as part of everyday life, a simple, time-honoured way of caring for the skin, passed down through generations.

We watched our grandmother hand-whip shea butter using recipes grounded in simplicity, care and tradition.

Years later, living through Canadian winters, we found ourselves searching for that same kind of nourishment.

Something in between

So we created Amaria Beauty.

What we found was often one of two extremes: expensive creams with long ingredient lists, or basic shea butter that had lost the beauty, story and experience we remembered.

We knew there could be something in between.

A modern expression of the body care we grew up with, rooted in West African heritage, thoughtfully made with nourishing butters and oils, and elevated into something beautiful enough to become part of your everyday ritual.
